This must have been the same perspective the CIA had based on spy photographs. Today, the wreckage of the Caspian sea monster remains where it landed, and it remains the second-largest airplane ever built, behind only the Antonov An-225, which was introduced eight years after the ekranoplan catastrophe. Despite their best efforts, the Soviets failed to conceal the world's largest plane at the time.
