ET announced on Thursday that the 29-year-old actress has been cast as Mera, the DC Comics canon's underwater queen and wife of Aquaman. Heard will debut as Mera in 2017âs The Justice League Part One before starring with Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa in the 2018 standalone Aquaman picture.
"I'm ecstatic about the amount of fan love and admiration that Aquaman has earned, and the fact that it's generated so much interest for Aquaman and Mera that it means we're coming back," Heard said in a late-2017 interview. "I'm ecstatic to be able to shoot it." Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder, is now available to view exclusively on HBO Max.
