Nymeria has most likely been roaming the woods since. The A Song of Ice and Fire novels, on which Game of Thrones is based, provide a glimpse of what is to come for the dog â if you had a terrible dog on your side, why wouldn't you employ her in the struggle for humanity's survival? We witness Arya reacting in amazement upon encountering Nymeria in the footage. This, however, might be a deceptive editing trick designed to make it seem as if the youngest Stark daughter would be reunited with her pet when Nymeria appears in another region of Westeros.
What is a direwolf? Direwolves are a rare, huge, intelligent wolf species that are sometimes seen in the North and beyond the Wall. Adult direwolves may reach the size of a small horse and have razor-sharp fangs, which makes them very lethal in combat. They have been known to pull limbs cleanly from their sockets and shred their prey. Direwolves are prevalent across the northern realms, although their population is so small that they are seldom seen in the wild. Ghost was Jon Snow's devoted direwolf friend in Game of Thrones.
Since then, the direwolf has been missing. Thus, Nymeria is most likely located inside the Riverlands. Curious. There is a lot going on in the Riverlands right now. If Nymeria is to triumphantly return on Game of Thrones, this may be the moment. Nymeria has a stronger presence in George R. R. Martin's books, yet it exists nearly entirely in murmurs and rumors. Arya overhears people discussing a female wolf that has gathered an unflinching pack. While in Riverrun with the Hound, she notices and cries out to such a wolf. The wolf responds to her cry but does not approach. Arya sometimes has nightmares about this pack (dreams that, like her brother Bran's, are presumably real). What is Nymeria up to these days?
On the show, only Bran has been granted warging abilities, while Jon and Arya have both experienced enlightening "wolf dreams" in the book series. While the program theoretically has time to follow this path with other Starks, a more plausible explanation is that the production sought to stress Bran's prominence and make his warging skill look more unusual.
