Mathayus sustains an arrow wound to the shoulder in the process (as he did when fighting King Memnon). They visit Valina's father, Sorrell Raskov, an eccentric scholar and inventor who is adamant about reclaiming his throne. Sorrell is able to decipher the writing on the key, which states that they must locate a secret palace in Glenrrossovia in order to locate Alcaman's crown, which would grant them global dominion. Drazen enters, seizes the key, sets fire to the home, and abandons them to their deaths. The heroes flee to Glenrrossovia, where Drazen terrorizes the people in an attempt to locate the palace. They grab the key from a local lad and carry it to the Goddess Temple, which is ruled over by High Priestess Feminina. They find the Key is embedded in a symbolic hole in a Goddess statue in the Temple's subterranean sanctuary. The sanctuary is pushed through the dirt, exposing stained glass indicating the journey's next route.
